Next big thing for Rideventures was doing a sportive all by itself - no charity partner involved. The Autumn Epic 2016 would rely entirely on my resources - oh, and we were doing hot food for everyone as well, so no pressure...
I also wanted to offer a shorter route so people could get a taste of the Epic without having to spend all day out in the wilds of Wales. I recce'd a new 50mile route that went out the same way as the longer ones but turned back before the big Abbey-cwm-Hir climb. The return was almost car free and over the high moorlands for a long final descent straight into Knighton.
On the day we had great weather, 200 participants and fantastic baked potatoes with veggie chilli at the finish-line.
