So the big day and big plans - all scuppered by rain that turned to snow in the morning. By 11am it was all over so out I went to attempt a 100km training ride - all flat terrain, and me with a bowl of porridge inside me from 8am and nothing more.First quarter went well - but on turning I discovered why - a still, bitter East wind had pushed me fast out to Oswestry. The rest of the ride was into it...
Very cold and after 3 hours I had run out of gas so had to stop to take on a gel. Sucked down every last bit of this and then was fine. Don't think I'v ever done 100km in training, brilliant - and so early in the year!
