Swain's Lane - this is apparently one of the few steep hills in the capital and as such is regularly climbed (Strava shows 14,000 climbs by 10,000 cyclists -
segment link).
It's sort of round the back of Highgate West Hill (which is itself a good London hill) and can be reached by turning right of this round-a-bout:

So far as I can recall this first bit was about 8% average grade |

And then it gets much steeper from here on, the second half - may be 12% |
This is the last bit - whole hill just under 1km and a good
test of strength/ideal for hill repeats - and relatively car
free (important when you are going for it).
