With the postponement of the Cheshire Cat (very sensible in light of the atrocious weather conditions) attention turns to the Motion in Mercia.
Just a few weeks away (7th April) and now touted as the season "opener" (though don't hold your breath, it could still be snowing in April...)
800 hundred did it last year. There appears to be 2 significant climbs on the long course - both happening well over half way:
1) Gleedon Hill - just outside of Cressage
2) Brockton - just past Jackfield in Ironbridge (and the Tar Tunnel - don't ask)
The Ironbridge Gorge also contains No. 38 Jiggers Bank from Simon Warren's 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs.
Once the weather clears I will recon these climbs and have a full report for the blog.
